nice and honest reviews. Did I really lose it badly?! My bad. Sorrrriii. Did i tell you the idea was shit? Ah well, sorry for negativity. I dont even remember it - will try to be more composed in future outings.

Next time I think we realistically set up shooting for more than one day.

(a) because my attention span only lasts for a few hours and then as you so subtley noted I turn into a bitch and/or dont give a shit.

(b) for greater "quality" of production

(c) so that if we have any better ideas during shooting we can capture them the next day of shooting.

-I like the idea of getting kit to storyboard (time willing)
-Monitor would be cool. I checked $50 a day to hire. do you think it would be worth it?!
- Most disappointing thing when reviewing film is dodginess of amateur lighting. MUST investigate on basic lighting and learn how to use WHITE BALANCE on camera!!!

Clintos - also want to start sharing funding of films, Think it is v. unfair that you pay for all equipment etc. I am willing ot fork out alll other costs such as - catering on shoot days, cost of DV tapes, and all other items not related to camera that we need.

Should consider estimating cost for DV camera batteries, DV tapes, bounce board, and LIGHTING!!

Also - sorry for total complete lack of editing and direction on this film. Cannot tahan The Hours......

my comments:

good
- having script ready, shot selection and "vision" very important (though this could've been a bit more organised)
- percy was cool!
- important to keep spirits up
- $100 at video production course well spent...got a crew who semi knows what they were doing!!

bad
- long, long days are not the most productive
- long, long days are very, very tiring
- having hot house is not so good
- acting is very repetitive
- lighting - need help here

lessons learnt from tropfest shooting:

1. when changin battery ensure tape does not play back / rewind...
2. always check the best take ... or at least record another 5 seconds after calling cut
3. take logger should stand behind camera and look @ viewfinder with cameraman - unless we get a monitor!!
4. ask kit to storyboard next time
5. see wishlist

wishlist:
extra DV camera batteries
teleconversion lens
waterproof housing

review of shooting... hope for no reshoots... must review all footage asap... !!

morning - wayne / clara action: abit stiff (pardon the punn) to begin with and then the 2 relaxed abit and got some quality footage done... slowness in setting up could not be avoided... wayne overcame his shyness, clara needed no direction & sharon worked her professional attitude...

afternoon - testimonials and removals: very good footage spoilt by some dodgy battery action (dissappointing) becky lost it
in the midst of setting up shot selelction / clinto also lost it back when told his idea was shit (not too professional infront of everyone hmmm... ) newayz... things settled / relaxed when tiff arrived back from basketball... from then on she stopped bitchin and started kissin... *muah* yay to tiffaroooness!!

nite time - remaining scenes: very hot and sweaty.... also extreme tiredness & hunger set in... long day takes its toll but pple remained focused to wrap up shooting in one day...

in all a good day... editing time should be minimised by loggin all takes!
Film action-ness.

So how do you think the shoot went?
